Swap Consulting :: Education

CDR’s value added stems from our recognition that each market sector and each client has different constraints that need to be determined and addressed prior to procuring derivative contracts. CDR devotes a significant amount of time translating our knowledge to our clients to help educate a client’s staff on current trends in the market, risks related to derivative instruments, and methods to manage these risks.

CDR has administered many educational seminars for our clients throughout the country. Our education seminars are tailored to the needs of the issuer, which has ranged from a simple hour-long market overview to half-day seminars. They are often structured as interactive presentations and open forum discussions on all aspects of the derivative marketplace.

Additionally, CDR employees are continuously in attendance at industry conferences, acquiring updates on and discussing the swap industry and potential legislative changes. CDR team members frequently speak at these conferences to share their expertise with the industry. In the past, CDR has spoken about derivatives at various bond/derivative conferences hosted by the Information Management Network (including serving as co-chair), Bond Buyer Derivatives Conference, U.S. Conference on Municipal Risk Management and Reinvestment, California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission, Reznick Group, National Counsel of State Housing Agencies, Novogradac & Co., and Smith’s Research and Ratings.
